HOW TO CREATE A FAKE BEARD

8 SIMPLE STEPS ON CREATING A FAKE BEARD
WWW.RENECAUDILLO.COM

SUPPLIES NEEDED

CREPE WOOL
SCISSORS
SPIRIT GUM
SPIRIT GUM REMOVER
SMALL CUP
EYELINER PENCIL *NOT PICTURED
COMB OR MASCARA WAND *NOT PICTURED

1. Take your scissors, and cut up your crepe wool into a finely ground pile. Make sure the pieces are cut short enough so that you create a sort of powder. If you prefer a fuller beard like mine, try cutting the hair about 1/8" long. Cut enough to fill about a 1/2-3/4 cup.

2. Take your eyeliner pencil and draw lightly on your face the outline of where you want your beard, mustache, and/or sideburns to be placed. Match the pencil to your hair color.

3. Once you have figured out where the hair goes, you have two options for sticking the hair to the skin: liquid latex or spirit gum. Whichever you choose, with a cheap makeup brush/ small paint brush apply a thin layer starting in the lower chin area. (I prefer spirit gum because 90% Alcohol from any pharmacy or walmart can be used to remove it easily)

4. Wait about 20 second, allowing your freshly applied spirit gum to gain a tacky consistency.

5. Then, take little pinches of your pile of cut crepe wool with your forefinger and thumb, roll it into a small ball and spread the ball to form a fan shape and dab it over the tacky spirit gum surface with the hair pointed to the face to make it appear as if the stubble is coming from the skin and not laying flat against the skin.

6. Continue this application method until you've reached up towards your side burns.

7. Once the entire face has dried, use a small comb or mascara wand to comb faux hair in a natural direction.

8. Using a dark eye shadow powder close to hair color, fill in gaps for a fuller finish.

9. DONE!
